Posting to Your Blog on HWDSB Commons

Ok, so you’ve requested your blog, you’ve changed your theme to something more representative of you, given it a name, and tweaked the user settings with your URL so that your blog is clickable from our community page on http://mypuley.ca. Now it’s time for you to post your first article. Follow along with this video as I show you how to create a new post, add a title, write your text, and add a picture / video from the internet, as well as categories and tags. I’ll also show you how to delete that pesky ‘Sample Page’ from your menu that was added as a default when you requested your blog.

Setting Up Your Blog, Adding a Theme, & Some Tweaks

Thanks to Liam @lmarshal4109 for being my Guinea Pig for this video! In this video, now that you have requested and have your own personal blog on The Commons, I will show you how to easily access your blog, customize it to your liking and personality, and tweak a setting necessary to ensure that all of our blogs are easily accessible for commenting for the class (and beyond). Please be sure to do this immediately after requesting your site to ensure you remember to do it.
